The only problem with this scene -- and it's prevalent in TWW scenes -- is sexism. Josh references the Catholic school-girl uniform. TWW scripts were chock full of sexist lines, because of which it could not be rerun on any network today, especially after MeToo. The show was a product of its times and the script was soooo 2000.

I became a dad a year ago. I thought this scene hit me hard before I had a kid. Now… I’d build better worlds for her.

This, right here, is when Josh really becomes Bartlett's man. His speech about why he voted down the milk price bill or whatever it was is what got Josh onboard, but this is what made his loyalty to Bartlett personal, almost feudal. From here on until he went to run Santos' campaign as far as Josh Lyman was concerned Jed Bartlett was the President, and he was the President's man.

Just came across the West Wing cast's promos for Obama's big block of cheese day. How on Earth did I miss this? Hilarious. No surprise that Allison Janey's delivery and timing was my favorite part. She nailed so many one-liners on that show. Bittersweet to see that fun banter among the cast after so many years--without John Spencer, rest in peace.

What's sad is that a fillibuster in the Senate is down to just one member asking for a fillibuster to require 66 votes to pass. No actual reasoning or care. No actual working and putting themselves foreward, not one ounce of integrity.

If only our government was like this now instead of the awfulness it's become across the board.

This is when Jed actually took Josh into his circle. Never knew him til he did this. Shows you the kind of man Jed is. He had a victory speech to give but went to see Josh personally off. It was nice to ask if he wanted him to come. Thats when Josh fully committed to Jed and when Jed fully committed to the campaign. Great writing.

The most unrealistic thing in this scene. Is that there is a thing; Senate rules, that the President knows nothing about. 😂

When the Senator raises the point of order, he mistakenly addresses the presiding officer as “Mr. Chairman.” The correct title in the Senate is actually “Mr. President”. It’s one of those little details I’ve never forgotten from my time as a Senate intern. That said, “The West Wing” is one of my all time favorite TV series.

Every episode was as powerful as this episode. I really miss this show.
